Geminids (Mithun Ulka Vrsha)in 2015: Moonless night for the best chance to observe this time

The nights of December 14th offer dark nights for this popular meteor shower of Geminids

The Geminids are easier on your sleep schedule too. Their radiant (near Castor in Gemini) climbs as high by 11.30 p.m. standard time. The higher the radiant, the more meteors you'll see.

The Geminid meteors can flash into view anywhere in the late-night sky when the shower peaks in mid-December. But if you follow their paths back far enough, they all appear to diverge from a point in the constellation Gemini.

The International Meteor Organization (IMO) predicts that the Geminids should reach an impressive Zenithal Hourly Rate of 120 this year. (ZHR is how many meteors you would  see per hour in a very dark sky if the radiant were at the Zenith.)
This year the peak should be centered on roughly 18.00 Hour (UT) Universal Time on 14th December 2015 fortunately, that's 11:30 p.m. IST So in India the shower's performance may be marvelous

As the IMO notes, "Near-peak Geminid rates persist for almost a day, so much of the world has a chance to enjoy something of the shower's best." In addition meteors after maximum are typically brighter than average.
You can see some colourful fire balls too.

The Moon will be a waxing crescent a few days old, no trouble at time of observations.  With clear winter night no any disturbance from clouds . Geminids shower will be the best chance to observe

Here are some Frequently Asked Questions for your kind information

⏩ Q❓Where to See?

➡Meteors can be seen every where in the sky for better view silect the dark sky place. You can go on your oun house terrace (you will see only bright meteors in city light)
For nice view go away from city light with warm cloths or/and slleping bag, tourch , note book,pen...(if possible take a easy chair with you) silect safe place....
Relax, have a tea or coffee ☕ in tharmose and light refreshments! !!!
waite for few minites to settle your eyes in darkness, dont use touch or mobile light unnecessary (brightness of the mobile screen also will reduce your count)  and enjoy the shower...
don't forget to note if possible

⏩ Q❓ What equipment I should use to watch the meteors?

➡There is no need for any special equipment! like Binoculars or telescopes. Meteors are of the naked eye object. Astronomers can use radio telescope or FM radio for calculate the meteors

⏩ Q❓ About What time I have to watch the Geminids meteor?

➡As per IMO prediction the highest meteors can be viewed on 11.30 pm of 14th night.
At that time Gemini will be high in the East but it will be up over head in late night. So if you have pesaenc you can wait up to Sun Rise!! But as per my view 11.30 Pm to 4.30 Am time is good for bright meteors

⏩ Q❓ Is there any arrangements to watch the meteors?

➡The local astronomy clubs do the arrangements for some astronomical events so be in touch with that group, otherwise you can make a group and enjoy!!!!

DON'T MISS THE CHANCE .
